The International Conference on Precision Measurement Technology and Instruments was successfully held from August 2 to 3, 2025, at the Cloud Lounge, Southeast Asia Center in Kura Kura Bali. The event brought together leading scientists, researchers, and academics from top global institutions to exchange insights and explore cutting-edge developments in precision measurement technologies and instrumentation.
Day One: Plenary Talks and Exploration of Kura Kura Bali
The conference opened with welcoming remarks from the host institution, followed by a series of Plenary Talks featuring distinguished experts: Prof. Harald Giessen (University of Stuttgart), Prof. Min Qiu (Westlake University), Prof. Juejun Hu (MIT), and Prof. Chris Xu (Cornell University). Their presentations offered valuable perspectives on the latest trends, technological challenges, and opportunities within the field of precision instrumentation.
Participants then joined a group photo session and took part in an exclusive tour of Kura Kura Bali. The first stop was Cove Pavilion, where the group was received by Mr. Steven Seng, Chief of Subsidiary Operations at Bali Turtle Island Development (BTID). The tour continued to Surf Surf By The Waves, where attendees participated in the symbolic release of sea turtle hatchlings (tukik)—a meaningful activity reflecting commitment to conservation and biodiversity.
In the afternoon, Breakout Sessions were held simultaneously at two venues. In the Malajah Room, speakers included Sanghoon Chae (Nanyang Technological University, Singapore), Jian Wang (Huazhong University of Science and Technology, China), Tao Li (Nanjing University, China), Guangwei Hu (Nanyang Technological University, Singapore), and Lingling Huang (Beijing Institute of Technology, China). Meanwhile, the Cloud Lounge hosted Lei Zhou (Fudan University, China), Zhaogang Dong (SUTD & A*STAR, Singapore), Cheng Zhang (Huazhong University of Science and Technology, China), Hongtao Lin (Zhejiang University, China), and Xiaoguang Zhao (Tsinghua University, China).
Day Two: Cross-Border Collaboration and Knowledge Sharing
The second day featured presentations from university representatives across Asia, highlighting emerging ideas and fostering dialogue on regional and global collaboration in science and technology. A new round of Breakout Sessions followed, featuring contributions from Qizhen Sun, Fumin Zhang, Yuying Xie, Xinghui Li, Changxi Yang, Jie Yang, Yulin Shen, and Fanghao Li, representing prominent institutions in China.
At the same time, the Malajah Room hosted an additional session with Nicolas Joly (Max Planck Institute, Germany), Wei Yan (Westlake University, China), Yijie Shen and Xi Xie (Nanyang Technological University, Singapore), Shuailong Zhang (Beijing Institute of Technology, China), and Dezhi Tan (Zhejiang Lab, China).
Shaping the Future of Precision Technology
More than just a technical forum, the conference served as a dynamic space for academic networking and global collaboration. The exchange of knowledge and perspectives throughout the two-day program is expected to inspire innovative research and development in precision technologies with long-term impact across both academia and industry.
